Dr. Brooke has been on leave since January 2011 to have reconstructive surgery on both hips as a result of a motor vehicle accident two years ago.
Update June 2011: Dr. Brooke is doing great after her first surgery and is anticipating her second surgery in the fall. As a result, she will not return to practice until after the new year. Dr. Tara Brooke is Naturopathic Physician who graduated
with her ND from the prestigious Naturopathic Medical Program at Bastyr
University. As one of the top ND graduates she was awarded with a competitive
residency position at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health that she enthusiastically
completed. Dr. Tara Brooke practices primary care medicine
with an emphasis on comprehensive multidisciplinary holistic care and
as such sees patients for a variety of reasons and conditions. Her areas
of expertise which she developed as a student clinician, as a resident
and now during her time in private practice include: Chronic health conditions
in general; Lyme disease and other tick and vector borne illnesses, Fatigue,
Fibromyalgia, environmental illnesses and HIV/AIDS. She also works extensively
with patients in the areas of pre- and post-operative support care, physical
medicine, and women’s health. Dr. Tara Brooke has extensive and
ongoing continuing training beyond the ND curriculum in tick borne illnesses,
HIV/AIDS, Avian Flu and emergency response, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Energy
and Physical Medicine, homeopathic medicines, botanical medicines, Autonomic
Response Testing, antibiotic therapies, IV nutritional therapies and Acupuncture
and Oriental Medicine. She is also fluent in working with these conditions
and applying these modalities along with any other modalities within the
ND scope of practice to optimize health. When a client is in need of support
outside of Dr. Tara Brooke's scope of practice or her own expertise she
refers and networks with other providers in the area to assure that her
clients receive the best care possible. She also expects that her clients
will take responsibility in their health and lives and be a part of the
team, or partnership, in their wellness.
Dr. Tara Brooke has been interviewed and has lectured on
the topic of Lyme Disease & Tick Borne Illnesses for both publications
as well as for TV programming. She has also written articles on Lyme disease

While earning her ND from Bastyr, Dr. Tara Brooke often
worked as a Teaching Assistant for various classes and she also worked
as a research assistant in the writing of the "Balneotherapy"
chapter in the Textbook of Natural Medicine. She received numerous scholarships
while in the ND program at Bastyr. As an undergraduate, after earning
her Bachelor of Science with Major in Biology and minors in Spanish, Art
and Sociology from the University of Nebraska, she served in the Peace
Corps in Guinea-Bissau West Africa.
Dr. Tara Brooke is a member of the Washington Association
of Naturopathic Physicians (WANP), the American Association of Naturopathic
Physicians (AANP), and the California Lyme Disease Association (CALDA). Spanish
and Portuguese Criolu' are her second languages.
